Battery specifications

A single-cell (1S) LiPo battery with a nominal voltage of 3.7 V can be connected to the RoboHeart to supply the RoboHeart with power. The connector is a JST-PH 2.0 mm connector, which is used in many drones and other models. So if you have working batteries from drones lying around, you can use them with your RoboHeart.

Note that the voltage of a LiPo battery follows a discharge curve in normal operation and the voltage can vary between 4.2 V and 2.7 V depending on the charge state of the LiPo.

!!! Attention! Please observe the battery safety instructions in this manual when using rechargeable batteries!

Hi, could you please specify which kind of battery should be used regarding the discharge rate as your paper based manual (min. 5A) differs from the instructables article (1100mAh) .

Hi,

So 1100 mAh refers to the capacity and 5A refers to the maximum discharge current. When choosing a battery you either need to make sure that the maximum discharge current is 5A or alternatively you can look up the C-rate of the battery and use the capacity to calculate what the maximum discharge rate is with a tool like this: https://calculator.academy/c-rate-calculator/.

Hope this helps,

Patrick
