Playing is a social catalyst

Humans are by nature social animals and playing is a powerful catalyst and tool for positive socialization.

Playing helps us to develop and improve our social skills like verbal communication, body language, cooperation and teamwork. It can be used at any age, to break down barriers in group situations and improve relationships with each other through fun and playful interactions. Sharing laughter and fun experiences together also helps to build and foster empathy, compassion, trust and intimacy with others. Studies show that the time spent playing with peers allows people to model positive behaviours, which are then reinforced by positive responses from those same peers and personal self-development through playing.

Through the troubling and turbulent times since the start of 2020, social distancing has forced a breakdown of communication and significantly reduced contact. This is why we’re working harder than ever to create, build and implement solutions in the gaming world to bring people together again through augmented reality.

Our goal is to build a community where everyone feels included. We would like to encourage people to socialize by using our games to break the ice with strangers and make new friends. More than that, incorporating the gaming world into the reality with friends and family and developing a playful nature would help people to relieve stress, improve brain function, stimulate the mind and boost creativity.

Our games are always designed with an easy interface, enabling accessibility even to those who have never used augmented reality before. We want to make this technology more accessible to everyone and therefore we have chosen to mainly focus on the smartphone, due to its high popularity and being one of the most common devices in the world nowadays. Augmented reality allows players to experience simultaneously a physical experience by using a reality-based interface whilst enhancing the social experience through various online gaming modes. Augmented reality interfaces bridge the physical and digital world for users and bring the interactions from screen space into physical space. In those interfaces, players directly manipulate objects on the tabletop surface to influence the digital world accordingly and at the same time they interact with others in the shared physical-digital space.
